is it safe to carry lighter fluid in a steel flask meant for alcohol?

i’m talking about the kind of lighter fluid you would use on a barbeque or bonfire, that comes in the metal canister.
i’m going on a longterm rough camping trip, and i’m thinking the flask is more structurally sound (ie: not going to dent or break) while being big enough to hold a decent amount discretely.
any safety concerns i should worry about? i mean, i dont see how it could explode or anything, but people have been killed or injured by stupider things!
