Red Cross Emergency Response Unit – Your Chance to Do Something Good

This time we present a game that you are sure to try – if you care. Youda games welcome you at the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, namely its Emergency Response Unit, where doctors, engineers and volunteers work together to help victims of natural disasters, military conflicts etc.   You will save lives while having fun – and part of all proceeds of the game will be donated to the real Red Cross. Ever dreamt of traveling all over the world? Grab the chance! I am sure you have heard about the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement exists to help people all over the world who found themselves in need. Red Cross always acts according to the seven fundamental principles, which are Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntarity, Unity and Universality. You, as the member of Red Cross Emergency Response Unit, will also learn to use the principles in your life. The ERU completes its missions in the hottest spots of the world, traveling wherever their help is needed most urgently. You will control the whole operation of the unit, managing the resources and staff and saving people’s lives. Before you start the game you have to choose your difficulty level – I suggest Easy for the first time, because there will be quite a lot of things to deal with. For each mission in one of 11 high-resolution maps you have a limited amount of time to complete it (watch the clock in the bottom of the screen), a limited number of vehicles, teams and supplies and a number of tasks to fulfill. There are main tasks, like giving medical aid to sick people, shelter to homeless or relief supplies to those deprived of them, and extra tasks like clearing debris or establishing contacts with local authorities. Completing main tasks is critical for passing the mission, while extra tasks just give you additional points and may be left unattended. Once you start a mission, for example, helping victims of an earthquake in Argentina, your first action will be building your base camp, where alll your supplies will be stored. After that you can send your first team to the spot where it is needed most desperately. For this you have some vehicles with limited capacity, so you have to control the available transport and supplies necessary to reach success. Most of the tasks can be performed automatically, that is you just make the decisions about where to send whom and what actions to undertake. But in some cases your manual control is required, like when you deliver relief supplies with a plane or when your teams encounter some obstacles, which will sometimes multiple and unexpected. Actually, mostly you act as a real manager, but sometimes your driving or communication skills will be handy. I could go in much more detail, but I think you have already grabbed the main idea – ERU is not just fun (though fun it is), but also a great way to help others. Are you up to it?
