The one thing we don’t think about is the need to stay warm, when the sun is out and it is a beautiful day.

While backpacking in Switzerland this summer, I purchased for five euros a superlight, superthin insulated sleeping pad for camping. It provided absolutely no padding, but I absolutely did not care because it was so light to carry and kept me so warm. It ended up ripping so I did not bring it back to the U.S. with me, and I’ve been searching for something like it ever since. It was metallic on one side like one of those emergency blankets you keep in your car, and it folded up to about the size of a softball, and I absolutely MUST get another one!!!
