Product Description
The Shake Flashlight uses no batteries or bulbs. Instead it uses Faraday’s Principle of Magnetic Induction and a super bright LED to produce light without batteries. The flashlight is shaken for a few seconds to recharge an internal capacitor and it will then provide upto an amazing 10 minutes of light. Shake it longer for up to 30 minutes of constant light. How does this happen? As the flashlight is shaken, a magnet passes through a metal coil which, when you shake, “induces” voltage in the coil generating electricity.
During prolonged use it can be shaken for 10-15 seconds for every 2 to 3 minutes of super bright light. The light requires no maintenance so it can be left in your home or car for a longtime but will still be ready to produce light. The bright LED will last for thousands of hours and does not burn-out like a typical lightbulb – it should never need replacement. Great for home, car, camper, boat, or emergencies. Imagine exploring without the fear of ever running out of light. No need to worry about light if your car dies during a dark and stormy night. You’ll be in great shape even if you have to signal for help in the pouring rain because it’s 100% waterproof. The light it emits is twice as bright as an ordinary flashlight and is visible for up to one mile. This is a flashlight that never needs batteries, replacement parts or even bulbs for that matter. Now that’s peace of mind.

The quality on this item is acceptable. It looks like it will hold up well. I have never actually had to shake it, because it gets shaken so much during delivery that the battery in it is pretty well charged up. As far as brightness, I would say it is about as bright as a AA battery flashlight. Everyone should have one for emergency, because it is always ready to go and you do not have to go looking for batterys for it. You have light so you can go looking for a better flashlight
I did look around on the auction sites and found one they were selling for a slightly better price. It does make a good gift because people have not seen them before. They are usually real happy and say they will put it in the glovebox or whatever.

This is a very trustworthy flashlight. Buy shaking it back and forth several times, it gets charged enough to use. It is wonderful if you don’t want to be dependent on batteries. When you are in a emergency situation, you cant depend on how much energy is left in your batteries, and when you have to have light, this flashlight this one you can depend on when you need to. I have two.

It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting when I received it. It’s quite a bit smaller than what I was imagining. But it works and we will use it.

This thing outputs so little light it’s terrifying. The light coming out of my cell phone’s display is much brighter than the few nanolumens this thing produces with vigorous shaking.

While our flashlight seems to work, I can’t help but notice that it has a lithium button battery, which might explain its function. The “Magnet” is actually a piece of lead. So how does it really work? Shaking it definatly increases the brightness, but it seems it is assisting the magnet.
