    It takes a good 3 hours to heat the water. I use it in northern latitudes of US & Canada and it took a good 3 hours to heat up but it had enough for two frugal showers. The shower head snaps off but snaps back on. It looks fragile but is far stronger than I thought. I had it out in the sun on the ground heating my shower at N unit of Theo Roosevelt NP in ND and a buffalo kicked and dragged it. It held up fine
