I have a propane cooking stove and when I cook it gets black suit all over the bottom of my pans.?

When I cook it gets black gummy soot all over the bottom of the pan. What causes this. Some say my flame is to high but even on low it does it.

rub liquid dish soap on the outside of the pan before cooking. the black will come off much easier.

Sorry, I could’nt tell you I have propane also and my pans do not turn black or get a soot on it. I wonder what is causing that?

Soot happens more with propane and gas than it does with electric cooking. This is something that you have to get used to. However, if you want to keep your pans clean, make sure that you clean them well, after use, do not let them sit with the soot on for long. Dawn makes a really good cleaner for greasy soot – Power Booster, that you spray on. Also Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works good on greasy soot.
You could also have a specialist come in and check that you burners are performing efficiently.

I suspect that it’s because the flame isn’t gettin enough oxygen. When that happens, the burning propane produces carbon monoxide and carbon black (soot), rather than carbon dioxide.
Can you adjust the amount of air that gets to the flame?

You should have a blue flame which will not blacken your pots. If the flame is yellow it indicates that it isn’t getting enough air. There should be an adjustment for allowing more air to mix with the propane..

The air to gas ratio on each burner needs adjusted.
at the end of each burner tube there is a sleeve, (closest to the on and off valves) adjust that sleeve on each burner until you get a nice blue flame approx, 5/ 8 inches long

The burner isn’t getting enough air.A suggestion
lift up the top of your stove some tops or on hinges some are not . The burners have an air mixer tube running from the burner it self to the orfice where the gas comes out of the supply line at that point there is an adjustment. in the center is a round hole that fits on the orfice on eather side of that round hole you will see another opening in a moveable cover with a small screw holding it in place losen the screw
and twist the cover to make the openings larger
a small adjustment at a time . try this this on the burner making the most soot . adjust untill the flame is blue . if it works do the other burners if not you need to call your propane dealer and have them check your stove out.
