be sure there is fuel in the tank and the burner switch is turned on to let the fuel through!!!!!

Try the obvious , but some times if the burner gets wet it won`t allow the fuel through . Just dry out and retry. Sometimes it takes awhile for the fuel to get where it is supposed to. If it`s an old coleman stove the burners could get clogged. take a fine needle and clean the small holes out. That`s how the cave man done it after the Gieco commercial

I’ve actually had to take the burners apart and clean the fins before, so it might be really clogged.
