You should always take precautions and all kind of safety measures for your safety and security. You should always carry first aid kit that contains aspirin, bandages, gauze, pads, insect repellant, and other health and safety supplies. The first aid kit will help you treat minor injuries at camp.

I always study the area in which I am going also I make a point of knowing the people that are on the trip in case there are any medical issues I should be aware of.
Besides doing your homework, purchasing and or making your First Aid kit is essential!
There are many types so be sure and do your research and only get what you will need, unless you are car camping.
When I car camp I bring my WFR bag. Wilderness First Responder…it has more then I hope I will ever need.
Hope this helps……

One of the first things you should do is write an itinerary. Write down where you are going, with who and for how long- as in when will you be home. You can also write it in am email and send it to a few people.
Keep a first aid kit handy and leave it in the open so other people can see it, you dont want to be the only one to know where it is, especially if your the one that needs help and cant tell ppl where to find it.
Use common sense, if you have to question an action or decision listen to your gut, no not the hungry rumble, and do go through with anything that doesnt feel right
Always have buckets of water available around your campfire if you have one. Before you leave sprinkle the water on the coals and mix it with the stick, it should be cool to the touch.
Carry out what you Carry In..or even better leave with more trash than what your brought. just because that empty soda or beer can isnt yours doesnt mean you cant dispose of it.

Bring some flares, incase you cant start fire, or car breaks down, or your lost
They help alot
You can buy them (car flares) prob al wal mart or an auto shot
And know the area, such as camp where lots of people camp
Not in the middle of no where
And bring of course tents, food, drinks ect
Take some friends, so you dont have to take everything
HAVE FUN!

One of the first thing to before you leave is to do some research of the place you are going to camp at. Get a rough idea of the enviornment and features around the area you will be going to. If you can bring along a map which is as detailed as possible.
Next is to find out where the nearest medical / ranger station is to your campsite, where you can get help should any trouble arises. Make sure you get their tel number.
Let your friends or family members know where you are heading off for camping. Let them know the duration as well. Some countries may require you to register or at least inform someone at the national park ranger station as well.
Bring along a phone for emergency… if it gets too remote and you suspect that reception will be a problem, do consider taking a satellite phone.
Lastly do bring a well stocked first aid kit. Include inside emergency blankets, signalling mirror / flare and maybe a whistle to attract attention if necessary. Take some time to learn how to use them including your first aid items. Otherwise it will be pointless bringing them along.
