This lantern sucks. I bought this 2 weeks ago and read the reviews on it and it sounded like it puts out some light. The insta start never really works so you have to light it with a match every time. If you want a lantern that really doesnt put out alot of light than buy it.

I like that its propane , The control knod is a little loose , not firm to the touch . propane tank does’nt sit tight in the base . Very good looking style . Handels great in high winds .
Gives alot of bright lighting . I like colemen for its quality and I wanted to note where they could have done better Andrew

had one of these in camp for our summer family trip. i’ll say this: it works. it’s reliable. it really does light with the push of a button.
my complaints: the brightness only goes between ‘ark of the covenant’ and ‘off’. they’re not joking around when they say it’s significantly brighter than other lanterns. the instant start, while reliable, isn’t the best-operating setup. it does click on with a push of a button. but you’ve hit the button a good dozen times, waiting for the propane to get down to the ignition. the resulting mini-fireball, inside the globe, is entertaining but frustrating. the ‘thud’ of ignition is also rather suprising.
but like all coleman products, despite any complaints you could ever have. . . it works like crazy. long tank life, bright, easier than fumbling with matches or a lighter, it really does have a lot going for it.
it’s also pretty durable. one or two of these would be igniting and burning when your grandkids are going camping.

This is a good lantern. It give a lot of light and it looks pretty cool. The instastart works great. I like how the base fits on the lantern with out a case unlike my old one. Be careful the top screw stays hot for longer then the rest of the lantern. Also the base doesn’t have a very good fit around the propane tank and can be shook loose. I fixed mine with a rubber band. overall a very good lantern
